How Instly Engine normalises pricing across insurers
Instly Engine connects to multiple insurers and normalises their pricing structures into a single comparable format. This article explains how that normalisation works in practice.
Insurance pricing is complex. Every insurer structures their rates differently — different age bands, different zone definitions, different deductible logic. Instly Engine solves this by translating each insurer's native pricing format into a single normalised schema.
What normalisation means
When a new insurer is connected to Instly Engine, we map their pricing tables to a canonical schema: plan, zone, age band, currency, benefit level, deductible, and premium. This mapping is done once, then maintained as the insurer updates their rates.
What this means for your team
Your team writes queries once. When a new insurer is added or an existing one updates rates, nothing changes on your side. The Engine handles translation. You get consistent, comparable quotes across all 22 connected insurers through a single API call.
